Metrotenerife is increasing Line 1 tram frequencies to every 8-10 minutes on specific December and January weekends from 12 PM to 8 PM to facilitate travel during the Christmas and Three Kings' Day season.

Metrotenerife is adding extra tram services for the Christmas and Three Kings' Day season. This means Line 1 will run more often on certain December weekends and into early January.

During peak hours on these special days, Line 1 trams will arrive every 8 minutes on Saturdays and every 10 minutes on Sundays.

These increased frequencies are scheduled for:

  • Saturdays: December 13, 20, 27, and January 3.
  • Sundays: December 14, 21, 28, and January 4.

The company stated that these additional services aim to make it easier for people to travel around the metropolitan area for Christmas shopping and festive activities.

Specifically:

  • On Saturdays (December 13, 20, 27, and January 3), Line 1 trams will run every 8 minutes from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During these times, Line 2 will operate every 16 minutes.
  • On Sundays (December 14, 21, 28, and January 4), Line 1 will have trams every 10 minutes, and Line 2 will have trams every 15 minutes. These frequencies will also apply during busy hours, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Outside of these extra services, both tram lines will continue to follow their usual weekend timetables.
