Metrotenerife is implementing a special tram schedule on September 14 to manage increased passenger demand during the Cristo de La Laguna holiday.

Public transport in the Tenerife metropolitan area will adjust its operations this Monday, September 14, to accommodate the local Cristo de La Laguna holiday. Metrotenerife has introduced a special service plan to manage the expected increase in passengers for one of the municipality's most important events.

Under the new schedule for Line 1, trams will run every six minutes throughout the morning. From 3:00 p.m. onwards, the frequency will shift to every seven minutes to better balance seat availability with the holiday demand as crowds head toward La Laguna’s historic center.

The company has also prepared extra support for the end of the day. Once the fireworks display concludes, three trams will be stationed at the Trinidad stop to provide on-demand service. These shuttles will depart for Santa Cruz as they fill up, helping to clear the area efficiently.

These adjustments are standard practice for managing large events in the Canary Islands, where keeping traffic moving in busy areas is a priority. Metrotenerife encourages passengers to check for any updates or schedule changes on their official website and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and X).
