Metrotenerife will implement enhanced Line 1 tram services, including double trams and extended night operations with increased frequency, from February 20th to 22nd to accommodate the Carnival Piñata weekend.

Metrotenerife has announced extra tram services for Line 1 during the Carnival Piñata weekend. These special services will run from Friday night, the 20th, until midnight on Sunday, the 22nd. This is a common practice for big events in Tenerife's capital, helping thousands of people get around safely during the final days of one of the Canary Islands' most important festivals.

The company says they will use double trams and extend night services. During the Piñata weekend, Line 1 trams will run every ten minutes during the day. From 9:00 PM onwards, trams will come every twelve to fifteen minutes, providing continuous service from Friday night right through to the end of Sunday's operations.

The La Paz stop will be the main hub for night services, both for starting and ending journeys. There will be extra staff and police officers at La Paz to help manage the crowds. For safety and operational reasons, the Puente Zurita stop will be closed during the nights of the festival weekend.

For the Daytime Carnival on Saturday the 21st and the 'End of Party' on Sunday the 22nd, double trams will run to the Teatro Guimerá stop from 9:00 AM. On Saturday, trams will arrive every ten minutes. On Sunday, they will run every fifteen minutes, but this will change to every thirty minutes from 9:00 PM until service finishes at midnight.

You can find detailed timetables and frequencies at tram stops, on Metrotenerife's official website, and on their social media pages.
