Mesón de La Laguna to Host Iberian Ham Tasting Event in La Laguna This Friday
Mesón de La Laguna in San Cristóbal de La Laguna will host a professional Iberian ham carving demonstration this Friday, July 31st, offering complimentary tastings with the purchase of a drink.
Historic centers across the Canary Islands are enjoying a revival, with local food and drink leading the way. As part of this trend, Mesón de La Laguna, located at 105 Herradores Street, is hosting a special event this Friday, July 31st, featuring premium Iberian ham from Sánchez Romero Carvajal.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., the restaurant will offer a complimentary serving of ham to anyone who orders a beer or glass of wine, while supplies last.
The event highlights the art of professional ham carving, a skill that has become increasingly important in the hospitality industry for enhancing the dining experience. To showcase this craft, professional carver Julio César will be joined by two specialists. The team will serve the ham while sharing insights on the best ways to enjoy it, including tips on serving temperatures, proper slicing techniques, and how to get the most out of the product.
This initiative reflects a growing movement among restaurants in World Heritage cities to use high-quality culinary experiences to attract visitors and build loyalty among locals. By combining a live demonstration with a premium tasting, Mesón de La Laguna aims to turn its terrace into a lively cultural and gastronomic hub for the community this Friday evening.
