Matrix Creators Juno Reactor Set for Tenerife Noir 2026
Tenerife Noir, an Atlantic Black Genre Festival, announced that Juno Reactor, famed for their The Matrix film soundtracks, will perform two exclusive Spanish shows in 2026, including one in Tenerife.
Tenerife Noir, an Atlantic Black Genre Festival, has announced a major highlight for its 2026 event: the British band Juno Reactor will perform. Juno Reactor is famous for their crucial role in creating the sound of The Matrix films. This news is important not just for the Canary Islands, but for a wider audience, positioning the islands as a key destination for fans of electronic music and sci-fi movies.
Titled 'Inside the Matrix', Juno Reactor, led by founder Ben Watkins, will play only two shows in Spain in 2026. The first concert is on Friday, March 6, at Teatro Leal in La Laguna, Tenerife. The second is on Saturday, March 7, at Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Both start at 8:00 PM.
Juno Reactor is known for blending electronic music with tribal drums and grand visuals. They were essential in shaping the sound of The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Tenerife Noir organizers say choosing The Matrix was deliberate. They see a strong connection between the film series and noir fiction, both featuring a lone hero, a hidden truth, and a controlling system. The festival aims to use the soundtrack to create an immersive experience, taking the audience into the dystopian future of The Matrix.
This move further boosts the festival's international profile. Last year, it featured Japanese composer Yoko Kanno, famous for Cowboy Bebop. Moving from a more varied lineup to the powerful electronic sound of Juno Reactor shows the festival's goal to offer diverse and improved experiences. Tickets for both concerts are expected to sell quickly and will soon be available on the official websites of the theaters.
