Tenerife's local products are well-known internationally, as are the talented chefs who live there. This year, besides showcasing its best dishes and ingredients at Madrid Fusión, Tenerife has also brought along a familiar face: María Lo, winner of the tenth season of the TV show 'MasterChef'.
María has even made a video for her social media, where she talks about how wonderful the island's food is, from its potatoes and cheeses to its "great wines." And it's easy to see why – Tenerife is famous for its delicious cuisine.
While at Madrid Fusión, María didn't just try delicious food; she also got to experience Tenerife's food culture without leaving the capital. She even felt she got to know the island better just by visiting the Tenerife Tourism stand and tasting its flavors.
Tenerife offers more than just sun and beaches, and at the event, María tasted everything from local 'papas bonitas' potatoes to cheeses and wines from six different regions. Her conclusion was clear: "Its gastronomy has become one of the main reasons to visit the island," she said.
