Marta Moore Headlines 2026 Madrid Design Festival
Artist Marta Moore, renowned for her craft-based work exploring memory and identity, is a key figure at the 2026 Madrid Design Festival, where she will exhibit her art and lead discussions.
Marta Moore, an artist from Seville who lives in Tenerife, is a key figure at the 2026 Madrid Design Festival. This festival, running from February 6 to March 8, is one of Europe's most important events for modern design. Moore will be busy, not only showing her art but also leading discussions, highlighting her broad approach that combines craft, research, and ideas.
At the Gandía Blasco store, her exhibition "Woven Vessels" explores the idea of a vessel as a symbolic form. Curated by Marta Valea of Caotics, the show features Moore's creations made from recycled Gan-rugs fabrics woven with fine gold thread. These pieces rethink the vessel as something that holds memories, identity, and a sense of place. At the same time, in the ACdO space, Moore is part of the "Coalescence" project, which looks at how design ideas come together and change today. Her works here mix traditional Canarian clay with gold thread, connecting with the history of Renaissance women and a modern view of men.
Beyond her exhibitions, Moore will lead a discussion called "From Object to Space" at the Clara del Río space. This talk will explore how art objects expand into architectural, symbolic, and social areas. Adding to her busy festival schedule, Moore recently won a short story prize from Manera magazine for "The Arnolfini Marriage Room." This story reimagines the famous Flemish painting, showing how her ideas, art, and writing all connect.
In April, Moore will take her work to Antibes, France, where she will exhibit with fellow artists from SACo (Spanish Society of Contemporary Crafts). This will help showcase Canary Islands' art on an international stage. Marta Moore sees objects and textiles as ways to express ideas, all rooted in high-quality craftsmanship. Her art connects with the Renaissance from a modern female viewpoint, blending materials, symbols, and memory. She has won national and international awards and has shown her work in major venues like the Biennale Révélation in Paris, Palazzo Litta during Milan Design Week, and previous Madrid Design Festivals.
