The Mar Abierto Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an expanded lineup of renowned Spanish artists performing across the Canary Islands.

The Mar Abierto Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with an expanded lineup of top-tier artists. Supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, local island councils, and the city councils of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and La Laguna, this milestone edition aims to strengthen the festival’s cultural impact across the archipelago.

The new additions feature Marta Sánchez, who will perform a special show in Gran Canaria marking her 40-year career, featuring both new music and reimagined classics. Sole Giménez will bring her introspective show to the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium on November 21 and the Teatro Leal in La Laguna on November 22. Additionally, Pasión Vega is set to perform a repertoire inspired by the films of Pedro Almodóvar at the La Laguna venue on October 11.

Víctor Manuel has also been added to the schedule, with performances in La Laguna on November 7 and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on November 8. These artists join a previously announced lineup that includes Bebe, Luz Casal, José Mercé, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, and Ainhoa Arteta, with shows taking place across Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Fuerteventura in the coming months.

The festival plays a key role in energizing the islands' cultural scene by bringing major, large-scale concerts to diverse locations. Tickets for all performances are currently available through the festival’s official website, and organizers may announce further additions to the anniversary program soon.
