Mar Abierto Festival Announces Bebe and Luz Casal for 20th Anniversary Edition
The Mar Abierto Festival will celebrate its 20th edition in 2026 with performances by Bebe, marking the anniversary of her debut album, and Luz Casal, debuting her new show.
The Mar Abierto Festival has announced that Bebe and Luz Casal will perform in 2026. The festival is gearing up for a special 20th edition next year. Bebe will be touring to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her first album, Pafuera telarañas (2004), while Luz Casal will debut her new show, Me voy a permitir.
"Having artists of Bebe and Luz Casal's stature for this milestone edition is incredibly special," said Jairo Núñez, director of Mar Abierto Producciones. "Both have influenced generations and continue to impress with their unique musical approach. Celebrating our 20th anniversary with them is also a celebration of the audience that has supported us from the beginning."
Both artists will perform at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Bebe will perform on May 1st, and Luz Casal on June 7th. Bebe will also give a concert on May 2nd at the Leal Theater in La Laguna. They join Víctor Manuel, who was previously announced to perform in Gran Canaria on November 8th.
Luz Casal's performance at Mar Abierto will feature songs from her new album, Me voy a permitir. This album is described as her most free and diverse work to date, featuring 10 songs that offer different perspectives and interpretations of the world. Her performance blends various styles, from French chanson and Latin American folk to rock and heartfelt narratives, connecting her past work with her future sound and highlighting her skill as a songwriter and performer.
Bebe, who returned to performing this year, is on a special tour marking two decades since the release of Pafuera telarañas. This debut album is considered a landmark of modern Spanish music.
Following the surprise announcement of this tour across Spain and America, Bebe and her band will perform beloved songs like "Malo," "Ella," "Siempre me quedará," "Con mis manos," "Razones," and "Cuidándote." These tracks continue to be celebrated as anthems of freedom, emotion, and authenticity.
