Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez announced this news during the Carnival's opening ceremony, held Friday night on the Teniente Francisco Grandi Giraud promenade. That evening, following a draw, the order in which the queen candidates would appear on stage was also revealed for the adult, child, and senior categories.
This event marked the official start of the 2026 Carnival, which will be dedicated to 'Latin Rhythms'.
