Police are searching for a man who broke into a San Miguel de Abona bar-restaurant on December 12, stealing change from the till in an incident captured on video.

Police are searching for a man who broke into a bar-restaurant in San Miguel de Abona early one morning and stole change from the till.

The incident occurred just after 4:30 AM on December 12. The thief entered the establishment, which is located in the San Blas shopping center within the Golf del Sur area.

He went straight to the bar, jumped over it, and ripped out the cash register containing the change money. In the process, he knocked a point-of-sale (POS) terminal screen and other items to the floor. This sequence of events was captured in a video that the affected business later shared on social media.

Although the man initially entered the premises with his face uncovered, he then used his t-shirt to partially hide it. However, images from other surveillance cameras in the tourist area are expected to help identify the alleged perpetrator.

Some locals believe he is a known criminal, possibly responsible for other robberies in homes, businesses, and vehicles in the area between Golf del Sur and Los Abrigos, a town in Granadilla de Abona. Civil Guard officers are investigating whether he has been previously arrested for property crimes.

The bar's managers filed a report at the main police station in Granadilla de Abona and have provided the video footage to officers, hoping it will help solve the crime.
