Man Revived After Drowning, Cardiac Arrest in Puerto de la Cruz

A 67-year-old man was rescued from Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz on Friday, revived by lifeguards after suffering a cardiac arrest, and then transported to hospital in serious condition.

On Friday, December 19, a 67-year-old man was rescued from the water at Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz. He was showing signs of drowning and had suffered a cardiac arrest. Lifeguards used a semi-automatic defibrillator and successfully revived him.

Afterward, personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service transported the man, who was in serious condition, by ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.

National and local police officers also helped with the emergency, according to reports from 112 Canarias.
