
Man rescued after falling down embankment in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Emergency services rescued a 51-year-old man who sustained moderate injuries after falling down an embankment in Santa Cruz de Tenerife early Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to a rescue operation in Tenerife’s capital early Saturday morning, highlighting the challenges of responding to accidents in areas with steep, uneven terrain.
According to the 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center, a 51-year-old man fell down an embankment on Francisco Guerrero Cazorla Street. Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium were dispatched to the scene, where they successfully rescued the man and handed him over to medical teams.
Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the victim for moderate injuries. He was later taken by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital for further evaluation.
The operation, which began around midnight, required close coordination between the National Police and the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Police, who secured the area to allow rescuers to work safely. No other injuries were reported, and the incident is being handled according to standard procedures for public road accidents.
