The accident occurred around 11:00 a.m. When emergency teams arrived, they found the driver in cardiorespiratory arrest. Paramedics performed advanced resuscitation at the scene to stabilize him before rushing him to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital. He remains in critical condition with multiple fractures.
The incident caused significant traffic delays heading south while emergency crews cleared the scene. This crash highlights the ongoing safety concerns regarding the TF-1, which is one of the busiest roads in the Canary Islands, particularly on weekends. Authorities are now investigating what caused the driver to lose control and hit the median.
