A man remains in critical condition after being resuscitated by emergency services following a near-drowning incident at Las Vistas beach in Arona on Thursday evening.

A man is in critical condition after being rescued from the water at Las Vistas beach in Arona this Thursday. Emergency services were called to the scene just before 7:00 p.m. following reports of a drowning.

When paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived, they found the man in cardiorespiratory arrest. After performing extensive CPR, the medical team successfully stabilized him. He was then rushed by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The rescue was a coordinated effort between emergency teams. While medical staff worked to save the man’s life, National and Local Police officers secured the area and ensured emergency vehicles could reach the beach quickly.

This incident highlights the vital importance of a rapid response in drowning cases. As the summer season continues, local authorities are urging beachgoers to exercise extreme caution, even in areas where lifeguards are on duty, as sea conditions can change quickly.
