Man Hospitalized After Falling Into Ravine in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
A 67-year-old man was hospitalized with moderate injuries after being rescued by firefighters from a ravine in Santa Cruz de Tenerife following a fall down a staircase.
A 67-year-old man is being treated at the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital after a fall in Santa Cruz de Tenerife this Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Calle José de Zárate y Penichet after the man fell down a staircase leading into a ravine. Due to the difficult terrain, the Tenerife Fire Consortium had to perform a rescue operation to reach the victim and bring him to safety.
Once rescued, the man was stabilized by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
This incident highlights the challenges emergency teams face in areas of the city with steep or uneven ground. Local police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
