Man Found Dead in Tenerife Ravine

A 44-year-old man was found dead at the bottom of a ravine on the Almáciga road, near Benijo, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2026.

According to the Canary Islands' emergency services (1-1-2), the alarm was raised at 10:27 AM when a family member discovered the man in the ravine and called for help.

Emergency services (112) quickly sent a medical ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), firefighters from Tenerife, and officers from both the National and Local Police to the scene. Paramedics reached the man but could only confirm he had died. Tenerife Firefighters then recovered the body from the ravine.

The National Police are now investigating to find out how the incident happened. The Local Police assisted with security in the area.
