Man Dies, Two Rescued in Tenerife Beach Drowning

A 39-year-old man died at Almáciga Beach in Tenerife after being pulled from the sea in cardiac arrest, while two other swimmers were treated for moderate drowning.

A 39-year-old man died on Saturday, October 25th, in Tenerife after being pulled from the sea at Almáciga Beach in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. He was in cardiac arrest.

The Canary Islands Government's emergency services (CECOES 112) received the alert at 1:58 PM and immediately sent help.

Because the situation was critical, a medical helicopter from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) was dispatched to the beach, along with an ambulance. Medical personnel tried to revive the man, but unfortunately, they were unable to, and he was pronounced dead.

SUC personnel also treated two other swimmers, ages 31 and 47, who showed signs of moderate drowning. They were taken to the Anaga Health Center.

Firefighters and local police ensured the area was safe for the helicopter to land on the beach. National Police officers are investigating the incident.
