A man has died after being pulled from the water off the coast of Arona, Tenerife, despite emergency responders' attempts to revive him.

A man died on Tuesday after being pulled from the water off the coast of Arona, Tenerife. The incident occurred near Las Galletas, an area where the Atlantic’s unpredictable conditions often require swimmers to remain cautious.

Emergency services received the alert shortly after 2:00 p.m., prompting a major rescue operation between the beaches of Los Enojados and Los Sanojados. The response included the Tenerife Fire Department, two ground medical units, and a medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC).

Despite the rapid response and the best efforts of medical staff to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the man could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local police cordoned off the area to allow rescue teams to work, while the Civil Guard has taken charge of the body and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the death. This tragedy serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by the island's coastline and the importance of exercising caution when swimming in areas where the terrain can make rescue efforts difficult.
