Police in northern Tenerife have arrested a man in La Orotava following a violent robbery in Los Realejos on August 21.

The incident occurred in the El Lance area while the victim and the suspect were helping each other move house. According to investigators, the suspect suddenly attacked the victim, knocking them unconscious. When the victim woke up, they discovered that their car, which had been parked nearby, had been stolen.

The attack was severe. Medical reports submitted to the court confirm that the victim suffered a broken jaw and a neck injury, both requiring surgery, as well as various facial bruises. As the victim began to recover their memory, they were able to help police piece together the events and identify their companion as the attacker.

Under the Spanish Penal Code, robberies involving significant physical violence carry much harsher penalties than standard theft. The suspect has been brought before a local court, and police are continuing their investigation to finalize the details of the case.
