Man Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Stabbing in Tenerife

The Civil Guard and Güímar Local Police have arrested a man for attempted murder following a violent attack in Tenerife. The incident occurred near Camino del Socorro, where a man of sub-Saharan origin was left seriously injured after being stabbed in the neck.

Emergency services were alerted at 11:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from security forces. Officers quickly established a search perimeter and intercepted the suspect just 500 meters from the scene as he tried to flee. Local police also successfully recovered the weapon used in the attack, which had been hidden on a nearby farm.

The victim received initial treatment from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) before being rushed to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

The suspect has been handed over to the Güímar Magistrate's Court, which will decide on his detention. Meanwhile, the Civil Guard is continuing its investigation to determine the motive behind the attack. This case highlights the importance of close cooperation between local and national police in ensuring public safety and securing evidence.
