A 25-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital with moderate injuries following a quad bike accident in a remote area of Adeje, Tenerife, on Sunday.

Road safety is back in the spotlight after a serious quad bike accident in Adeje, Tenerife, this Sunday. According to the Canary Islands’ emergency services (CECOES 112), a 25-year-old man was injured while riding on the Camino de las Casas de Teresme, near the Las Lajas recreational area.

Emergency teams were alerted at 11:13 a.m. and faced a difficult rescue due to the remote location. The operation involved a coordinated effort between the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), the Red Cross, the Environment Service, the Civil Guard, and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). Due to the nature of his injuries and the rugged terrain, the man was airlifted to Tenerife North Airport and then taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands. He is currently being treated for moderate injuries.

This incident serves as a reminder of the risks involved in off-road driving. While popular with tourists and locals alike, these activities require strict adherence to safety rules and proper preparation. The Civil Guard is currently investigating the circumstances of the crash, which highlights how vital coordinated emergency response is when accidents occur in hard-to-reach areas.
