Major Delays on Tenerife’s TF-5 Following Rollover Crash
A serious vehicle rollover on Tenerife’s TF-5 highway during rush hour left two people injured and caused significant traffic delays near La Victoria de Acentejo.
Traffic on Tenerife’s busy TF-5 highway faced major delays this morning following a serious accident during the height of rush hour.
According to the 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center, the incident occurred at 7:42 a.m. near kilometer 28 in La Victoria de Acentejo, where a vehicle overturned. A 43-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were treated at the scene for moderate injuries by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) before being taken to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital in Puerto de la Cruz.
Emergency teams worked quickly to manage the scene. Local police secured the area, while the Tenerife Fire Department provided technical assistance. The Civil Guard is now investigating the cause of the crash and managing traffic flow, which remained heavily congested throughout the morning. The Island Council’s road maintenance crew was also on-site to clean the road and restore normal traffic conditions.
The accident serves as a reminder of how easily traffic can be disrupted on the TF-5, particularly during peak hours. Authorities are currently working to determine whether the rollover was caused by human error or external factors.
