Madrid’s La Riviera Hosts Sold-Out Debut of ‘Canarias Tiene el Flow’ to Promote Island Talent
Madrid’s La Riviera hosts the sold-out inaugural "Canarias Tiene el Flow" festival, a government-backed initiative designed to promote and export Canarian musical talent to a global audience.
Madrid’s La Riviera venue will host the first edition of ‘Canarias Tiene el Flow’ this Thursday. The event is already sold out, with 2,000 fans expected to attend. More than just a concert, this event marks the official launch of a new initiative by the Government of the Canary Islands designed to promote and export the archipelago’s artistic talent under a unified brand.
Coordinated by Santi Gutiérrez, the project applies a "designation of origin" strategy to urban and fusion music. Supported by partners including Binter, Cajasiete, Arehucas, Clipper, CanariasPlay, and the Casa de Canarias in Madrid, the initiative aims to help island artists reach a global audience, proving that geography is no longer a barrier in the digital age.
The inaugural lineup showcases the diversity of the current Canarian music scene. Performers include established star Don Patricio, streaming favorites La Pantera and Juseph, rapper and freestyle artist Sara Socas, electronic musician Ale Acosta, rising talent Daniela Garsal, timple player Julia Rodríguez, and the alternative sounds of Ventura and Los Blody. The evening will be hosted by Eloísa González and Karin Herrero.
The project also extends beyond the stage with a documentary miniseries titled Cara A and Cara B, which will be available on RTVC’s CanariasPlay platform. The series explores how a new generation of artists is successfully integrating the Canarian accent and cultural identity into the modern music industry. The success of this festival highlights the power of public-private partnerships in bringing peripheral culture to the heart of the Spanish mainland.
