Los Silos City Council has launched a €381,340 renovation project for the Príncipe de Asturias residential complex, marking the municipality's first use of State Housing Plan funding to improve infrastructure and accessibility for 25 properties.

Los Silos City Council has launched the tender process for a major renovation of the Príncipe de Asturias residential complex in the Las Canteras neighborhood. This project is a significant achievement for the local government, marking the first time the municipality has secured funding from the 2022-2025 State Housing Plan for this site.

The project, which has a budget of 381,340 euros, is funded through a partnership between several government bodies. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda is the primary contributor, providing 285,072 euros (74.76% of the total). The remaining costs are split between the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo of Tenerife, each contributing 10% (38,134 euros), with the City Council covering the final 5.24% (20,000 euros).

The renovation will cover 25 properties and the surrounding public areas. The main goals are to modernize the infrastructure, improve accessibility by removing architectural barriers, enhance security, and upgrade common spaces. Beyond these physical improvements, the City Council aims to foster a stronger sense of community and social cohesion among residents.

The contract is expected to be awarded by the start of summer, with work beginning shortly after. This initiative is part of a wider urban regeneration strategy designed to improve living conditions in Los Silos and address the deterioration of local residential areas, all while meeting the requirements set by state regulations.
