Los Realejos Hosts 12th Annual Literature and Family Festival
The town of Los Realejos is hosting its 12th annual literature and family festival this weekend, featuring a Moana-themed setting and nearly 70 free cultural activities across the historic center.
Los Realejos is celebrating the 12th edition of its literature and family festival this weekend. Organized by the local council and the Cabildo of Tenerife, the event has become a highlight of the island’s cultural calendar. This year, the historic center of Realejo Bajo has been transformed into a Moana-themed setting, a choice selected by residents during last year’s festival.
The festival runs through Sunday and features nearly 70 free activities. For events with limited capacity, free tickets will be available at an information point in the Plaza del Realejo Bajo. Attendees can pick up a maximum of two tickets per person at the following times: Friday from 4:00 PM, Saturday at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM.
Beyond family entertainment, the festival supports the local publishing industry. The Plaza de la Iglesia will host a Book Fair featuring local bookstores, author signings, creative workshops, and live performances.
To encourage community engagement, activities are spread across several locations, including the plazas of Domínguez Afonso and San Sebastián, La Parra Park, the CEIP San Sebastián school, and the Casa de La Parra and Tigaray cultural spaces. A full schedule and map of locations can be found at realejoscultural.es/erase.
These events are designed to do more than just entertain; they serve as a vital boost to the local economy and community life, helping to make culture more accessible while strengthening the identity of the region.
