Los Realejos Announces Free Summer Cultural Program to Boost Community Engagement
The Los Realejos City Council has launched a series of free summer cultural events at Parque de la Parra, featuring live music, comedy, and performing arts to increase community accessibility.
Towns across the Canary Islands are increasingly using free cultural events to bring communities together. The Los Realejos City Council has announced a summer schedule running until mid-September, with most events hosted at the open-air auditorium in Parque de la Parra, Realejo Bajo.
By making these nine events free to the public, the council aims to make culture more accessible to everyone. The program features a mix of live music, comedy, and performing arts, starting this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with Peque Taramela.
The full schedule is as follows:
- July: The children’s program continues on the 18th at 11:30 a.m. with Güicho and La Banda.
- August: Events move to the evening at 8:30 p.m. The lineup includes the Yumara Luis Duo (1st), Della Du (7th), the Pili Soy Yo monologue (8th), and the Sandra Morales Duo (29th).
- September: The season wraps up with three 8:30 p.m. performances: the Echeyde Valle Verde concert (5th), Anna Rodríguez and Eliseo Lloreda (11th), and a final show by the Sociedad Musical Filarmónica de Los Realejos (18th).
These events provide residents with local entertainment while giving regional artists a platform to showcase their work, helping to weave culture into the daily life of the community throughout the summer.
