In the fishing village of Los Abrigos, the traditional celebrations in honor of San Blas and the Virgen del Carmen are taking place, with religious ceremonies, cultural events, and entertainment until September 8.

The traditional celebrations in honor of San Blas and the Virgen del Carmen are currently in full swing in the fishing village of Los Abrigos. The festivities will last until September 8, and a lot of interesting things await you: religious ceremonies, cultural events, and entertainment for all tastes. All of this is organized by a special commission with the support of the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.

Last Saturday, everyone enjoyed delicacies at the "Tapas and Wines" gastronomic festival, which lasted until morning. And on Sunday, one of the most beloved events took place – the "Romeria Barquera" sea pilgrimage. This is an old tradition of the village, which gathered many people, and music and dances made the holiday even brighter.

What else is interesting? Today, for example, is Children's Day. And tomorrow, Tuesday, there will be an inclusive meeting and a Day for the Elderly. Children's and adult gala concerts await you on September 3 and 4.

Music and dances will not be left out either. Parties will be held almost every evening, especially fiery one is promised on Friday, September 5. And the next day there will be a solemn procession and the saints' exit to the sea – a sight worth seeing! It will be repeated on Sunday, September 7, after the traditional procession and mass. There will also be water games and folk dances.

Everything will end on Monday, September 8, with a traditional football match between bachelors and married men (this is a classic!), a treat of pork cheeks and a water festival. And finally, a big dance, which will be a great end to a week full of faith, fellowship and fun on the coast of Granadilla.

The municipality of Granadilla de Abona invites everyone to join the celebrations. They say it is a great opportunity to feel the maritime spirit of Los Abrigos and meet friends.
