Two people escaped serious injury after their light aircraft made an emergency landing in a residential area of Tenerife on Thursday following a sudden loss of altitude.

A light aircraft made an emergency landing in the Amarilla Golf residential area of San Miguel de Abona, Tenerife, on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, the two people on board were not seriously injured.

The pilot was forced to land after the plane experienced a sudden loss of altitude while approaching Tenerife South Airport. The aircraft eventually came to a stop at a road intersection within the residential neighborhood. While such incidents are rare, the event highlights the challenges of flying in areas with complex terrain and high tourist traffic, where pilots must react quickly to mechanical issues.

Emergency services, including the Tenerife Fire Consortium, local police, and medical teams, arrived at the scene to assist the crew. An investigation is now underway to determine the technical cause of the flight failure.
