An 81-year-old British tourist who suffered a heart attack while walking on the Guía de Isora coast in Tenerife was revived by a lifeguard and local police before being hospitalized.

An 81-year-old British man had a heart attack while walking along the coast in Guía de Isora. Thanks to quick action from a lifeguard and local police, he was brought back to life.

The incident happened in Alcalá, near Plaza del Llano, close to the La Muralla promenade and an area called Playa Chica. The tourist collapsed in this pedestrian area. Within seconds, a lifeguard working nearby at Alcalá Pier rushed to help him.

Local police officers also arrived at the scene. The three — the lifeguard and two officers — immediately started CPR, which is vital in the first few minutes after a heart attack.

Another police patrol went to a local health center to pick up a doctor and nurse. Working together, they managed to get the British man's pulse back.

Once he was stable, an ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) took him to Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital.

The 81-year-old had arrived in southwest Tenerife a few days earlier for a three-month holiday on the Guía de Isora coast. He was staying at a place very close to where he had the heart attack.
