The Librería del Cabildo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife has launched a diverse November program featuring thirteen literary events, including author tributes, book presentations, and guided tours to foster community engagement.
The Librería del Cabildo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife has announced a packed schedule for November, transforming the bookstore into a vibrant hub for literature and community engagement. Far more than just a place to buy books, the shop will host thirteen diverse events this month, ranging from author tributes to guided literary tours.
The program highlights poetry with the "Literary Café: The Rhapsodist's Hour" series. This four-part event will feature poets Puri Gutiérrez, Tomás Redondo Velo, Víctor Yanes, and Ángel Sánchez, who will be joined by academic Cecilia Domínguez Luis. Additionally, the bookstore will honor journalist Juan Cruz on November 9th, making him the central focus of the month’s cultural programming.
Book lovers can also look forward to a busy schedule of new releases. Presentations begin this Tuesday with Miguel Ángel Martínez, followed by events featuring Roberto Padrón, Leticia Delgado, Juan Carlos Domínguez, and Ricardo Guerra. The bookstore is also collaborating with local institutions, including a book club session on the works of Elsa López, moderated by Antonio López Ortega, and a special outreach day organized with the University of La Laguna.
The bookstore’s "La Tuerta" literary tour, led by María del Mar Rodríguez, has proven to be a major success. While the November 21st session is already fully booked, high demand has prompted organizers to plan future dates, highlighting the public's strong interest in connecting local history with literature.
Located on Avenida Islas Canarias, the Librería del Cabildo continues to prove that physical bookstores remain vital community spaces. By fostering direct connections between authors and readers, these initiatives offer a personal, engaging alternative to the digital world, helping to keep the local literary scene thriving.
