Leyendecker Gallery Debuts at Paris MIRA Art Fair with Jun Martínez and Enrique Ramírez
The Leyendecker Gallery from Tenerife makes its Paris debut at the MIRA Art Fair, presenting the evocative works of Puerto Rican artist Jun Martínez and Chilean artist Enrique Ramírez, both exploring themes of landscape, memory, and culture.
The Leyendecker Gallery, based in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, is making its debut at the MIRA Art Fair in Paris. The fair runs until Sunday at La Maison de l’Amérique latine.
Leyendecker is showcasing two distinct and impactful artists, Jun Martínez and Enrique Ramírez, whose work shares a poetic connection to themes of landscape, memory, nature, and culture.
Jun Martínez, born in Puerto Rico in 1992, studied at the University of Puerto Rico and the Royal College of Art in London, where he won the Valerie Beston Artists’ Trust Prize in 2024. His art uses a unique visual style to reimagine landscapes, exploring ecology and cultural resilience. Last year, Martínez was an artist-in-residence at Leyendecker, and his work from that period was shown at fairs like Estampa, earning him the Kells Collection Prize.
Enrique Ramírez, from Chile (born 1979), has a background in music, film, and studies at Le Fresnoy-Studio National des Arts Contemporains. He previously won the Prix Découverte from the Amis du Palais de Tokyo in 2013 and was nominated for the Prix Marcel Duchamp in 2020. Ramírez’s art, which combines video, photography, sound, and installation, delves into migration, the sea as a storytelling element, and memory. He is set to begin a residency at Villa Medici in Rome soon.
