Legendary Tenerife sandwich bar Kiosco Rojo has reopened in La Laguna, serving its iconic 50-year-old tuna sandwich recipe from a new location after permit issues forced its closure in Santa Cruz.

Kiosco Rojo, the legendary bar famous for its classic Tenerife sandwiches, is back in business after a break. It's now in a new spot, but still serving up the same delicious recipes that are over 50 years old.

The bar used to be in the Fishing Harbor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where it first started out serving food to the port workers. But Kiosco Rojo quickly became a hit, turning into a beloved hangout for many people in Santa Cruz.

Unfortunately, there were some issues with the permit for the original spot. This meant the owner, Antonio Samarín, had to move the bar. It's no longer in the capital city.

A popular account that shares information about local eateries and food spots, Jonay&Joana (@guachinchesmodernos), has announced Kiosco Rojo's new address. The famous port bar from Santa Cruz has now opened in La Laguna. You can find the new Kiosco Rojo at Avenida El Paso, number 49, premises 13A.

The bar is open Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Kiosco Rojo is best known for its amazing tuna sandwich, which is said to be one of a kind on the island. Since the 1970s, its simple, original recipe has been a favorite. It's made with just two things: fresh, high-quality tuna and a special homemade sauce that makes it taste so good. This is all served on a golden, crispy, handmade bread roll.

You won't find Kiosco Rojo on social media or Google Maps, except for its location. So, to really experience what makes it special, you'll just have to go and try it for yourself at its new home in La Laguna.
