The Leal Theatre in La Laguna hosts the award-winning comedy Locuras paralelas, directed by Paco Mir, this Thursday at 8:00 p.m.
The Leal Theatre in La Laguna presents Locuras paralelas this Thursday, November 5, at 8:00 p.m. The play, which began its national tour following its premiere last April, is directed by Paco Mir—a veteran of the comedy group Tricicle—who co-wrote the script with Gabriela García.
The production won the International Playwriting Contest held by Secuencia 3 for its twentieth anniversary, beating out over 100 entries from a dozen countries. The story follows two couples, played by Dafne Fernández, Sergio Mur, Diana Palazón, and Fernando Andina, whose lives collide when their homes inexplicably merge into one space. This setup explores how chance and different life choices can drastically change our paths.
Paco Mir, a two-time Max Award winner with a 40-year career, uses this play to blend situational comedy with deeper questions about missed opportunities and personal decisions. The cast brings a mix of stage and screen experience to the production, maintaining a fast pace that leads to an unconventional ending. The play is highly regarded for its unique narrative structure and its ability to balance humor with thought-provoking themes.
