Leal Theater Premieres "Ellas," Stages "Snow Queen" This Weekend
The Leal Theater in La Laguna is hosting two diverse shows this weekend, featuring the premiere of In Piano's multidisciplinary "Ellas" tonight and a family-friendly adaptation of "The Snow Queen" on Sunday.
The Leal Theater in La Laguna is putting on two shows this weekend, showcasing the island's diverse arts scene, from experimental music to family-friendly plays. One of these is the premiere of "Ellas" by the group In Piano. This show aims to change how we experience the piano by blending different art forms.
This concert, happening tonight (Saturday) at 8:00 PM, combines music, movement, visuals, and storytelling. The five members – Mari Luz Trujillo, Laura Díaz Martín, Zaida Almeida, Carolina González, and Ana Belén Gutiérrez – have created a show that uses the piano in unusual ways. By exploring the piano's physical parts like its strings, wood, and pedals, they reveal sounds we don't usually hear. This takes the audience on a journey of different feelings and musical scenes. The show features arrangements of modern songs, film scores, and new compositions, creating a truly immersive and up-to-date experience.
Also this weekend, the same La Laguna stage will host a family show tomorrow (Sunday) at 12:30 PM. This is "The Snow Queen," a play based on Hans Christian Andersen's famous story, adapted to be suitable for children.
