Conferences organized by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts are taking place in the Canary Islands, exploring the relationship between architecture and music, with lectures by Juan Calatrava Escobar and Luis Angel de Benito.

This week, the Canary Islands are hosting two interesting conferences dedicated to the connection between architecture and music. The event is organized by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Miguel Arcángel, and coordinated by academician Conrado Álvarez Fariña. The main goal is to show how important architecture is for music and how music influences architectural decisions.

The event, supported by the government of the Canary Islands, will take place today, Monday, and on Wednesday at the academy's headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Plaza Ireneo González, 1). It starts at 7:00 PM, and admission is free for everyone while seats are available.

Today, Juan Calatrava Escobar, Doctor of Art History and Professor of Architectural Composition from the University of Granada, will give a lecture. He will talk about the connection between the works of Le Corbusier and music.

Calatrava Escobar is a well-known expert in the history and theory of architecture, known both in Spain and abroad. His numerous scientific works and publications are a clear confirmation of his talent.

On Wednesday, a conference will be held by Luis Ángel de Benito, a music promoter. He will talk about how music creates an atmosphere for architecture and history.

De Benito is the author and host of many programs about music on Radio Nacional de España. He currently teaches at the Katarina Gurska Higher Center, the International University of La Rioja, and also leads music analysis courses at the Menéndez Pelayo International University.
