The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival will host a series of free public workshops on April 23 and 24, featuring acclaimed Spanish filmmakers and actors discussing the craft of modern cinema.

The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival has unveiled the lineup for its sixth annual Film Craft Workshops. Taking place on April 23 and 24 at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, the event aims to connect industry professionals with the public through a series of discussions moderated by journalist Carlos del Amor.

The workshops highlight the diverse creative voices currently shaping Spanish cinema. The series kicks off on April 23 with filmmaker Óliver Laxe, known for his international acclaim at major festivals like Cannes and his success in the Oscar race.

The April 24 sessions will focus on two key areas. The morning roundtable explores the craft of acting with Javier Cámara, Laia Costa, and Asier Etxeandia. This panel brings together three distinct perspectives: Cámara’s long-standing career, Costa’s international success, and Etxeandia’s versatile work across both independent and commercial projects.

The workshops conclude on Friday afternoon with a conversation between directors Alberto Rodríguez and Albert Serra. This session will contrast Rodríguez’s social and genre-focused storytelling with Serra’s experimental, auteur-driven style.

All three sessions are free to attend, though attendees must collect invitations through the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium’s standard channels. By hosting these workshops, the festival continues to provide a vital space for audiences to explore the creative processes and evolving landscape of modern film.
