The first Vuelta La Palma cycling tour will take place in La Palma in 2025.
In September 2025, the island of La Palma will host the first Vuelta La Palma cycling tour, which will combine two well-known UCI cycling competitions and attract cyclists from all over the world.
From September 12 to 14, 2025, a cool cycling event, Vuelta La Palma, will take place on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands! It will be something special, as it will combine two well-known UCI cycling competitions that are already loved on the island: TEA GranFondo and Volcano GranFondo, into one weekend. And there will also be an exciting uphill race in San Andrés y Sauces at the opening.
The main goal of Vuelta La Palma is to make the island popular among cycling tourists from all over the world. It offers both competitions and incredible scenery, and attracts many participants. The organizers say that this format has a great future! About 450 cyclists are expected to travel around the entire island. It's great that there are many women among the participants – 15%, which is much more than usual in cycling. And athletes from 17 different countries will also come, with 75% of the participants coming from outside the island.
Vuelta La Palma is a unique opportunity to see the whole island in one trip, from the green mountains in the north to the volcanic landscapes in the south. It is both a sporting challenge and a wonderful journey that will make La Palma one of the best places for cycling tourism in the world.
On Friday, September 12, there will be an uphill race in San Andrés y Sauces. On Saturday, September 13, the TEA GranFondo (TEA) will take place, with the route running through the green mountains in the north. And on Sunday, September 14, it will be the turn of the Volcano GranFondo, which will take place in the volcanic south.

A special feature of this event is its flexibility. It will be possible to choose how many stages to participate in: all three, two, or just one. And during the TEA and Volcano GranFondo, you will be able to decide which distance to ride – short or long, depending on your strength and desires.
The first Vuelta La Palma cycling tour is organized by 7Raid with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands, the local authorities of La Palma, as well as the cities of San Andrés y Sauces and Los Llanos de Aridane. Well-known brands such as Bioracer and Fred. Olsen Express, as well as local companies such as Mountain Ride and Ford Autos Nico, have also joined the project. This shows that business is interested in developing sports and tourism on the island.
