La Laguna is set to cement its status as a Canary Islands cultural hub with the return of the Soplo de Letras festival. The event will take place at the Plaza del Cristo on May 15 and 16, continuing its tradition of blending critical discussion with popular entertainment to highlight the latest trends in Spanish media and independent music.
The program for Friday, May 15, explores the evolution of comedy and digital media. Headlining the day are Inés Hernand and Ignatius Farray, both known for their work in activism and pop culture. They will be joined by a lineup of stand-up comedians and podcasters, including Martita de Graná, Ignasi Taltavull, Petite Lorena, and the internationally recognized group La Chirichota. DJ Kiki will close out the evening.
On Saturday, May 16, the focus shifts to music. The stage will feature the alternative rock band Ultraligera and Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, who recently gained acclaim at the 2025 Independent Music Awards for their unique blend of folk and electric sounds. The lineup also includes a performance by Iseo & Dodosound, showcasing their fifth studio album, and the urban rumba style of Javi Medina.
The festival will extend beyond the outdoor stage with an additional event on June 19 at the Teatro Leal. This session will focus on debate and creative discussion, with further details to be announced soon. By combining large-scale performances with intellectual programming, the festival aims to appeal to a wide range of audiences.
