The Tenerife city of La Laguna will host the first European edition of the popular Puerto Rican digital series Sesiones Desde La Loma on June 20th as part of the 10th La Laguna Latin Festival.
La Laguna is set to become a major hub for international Latin music. On June 20th, the Tenerife city will host the first European edition of Sesiones Desde La Loma, the popular Puerto Rican digital series known for championing contemporary salsa. As part of the 10th La Laguna Latin Festival, the event will be held in the Plaza del Cristo and is free for the public to attend.
This event is more than just a concert. The project, led by Norberto Vélez and producer Gabriel Ramos, will film a special episode titled Pa’ La Laguna for their global broadcast channel. This collaboration between the local production company Orilla Cultural and the city’s musical authorities highlights the Canary Islands' role as a bridge between Caribbean music and the European market.
Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez sees the event as a way to boost the city’s international profile, reinforcing La Laguna’s status as a key cultural destination. Norberto Vélez and his band, El Escuadrón de La Loma, will perform alongside a mix of local and international musicians, with the full lineup to be announced soon.
Since its launch in 2019, Sesiones Desde La Loma has featured some of the biggest names in Latin music. Bringing the show to Europe marks a significant milestone for the platform. By hosting this high-quality production, La Laguna is establishing itself as a vital stage for the global music industry.
