San Cristóbal de La Laguna is preparing a multi-faceted New Year's Eve celebration to welcome 2026, featuring a main party in Plaza del Cristo with four orchestras, a children's event, and festivities extending across several neighborhoods.

San Cristóbal de La Laguna is getting ready for a big celebration to welcome 2026. The main party will be held in Plaza del Cristo, which will be transformed into 'Christmas Square'. Four major orchestras are set to perform there until the early hours of the morning.

The festivities will also extend to other areas, including Tejina, Valle de Guerra, San Matías, and La Cuesta.

The program begins on Tuesday, December 30, with a children's New Year's Eve celebration. Starting at 6:00 PM in Plaza del Cristo, kids can enjoy bouncy castles, party favors, and a countdown with grape-shaped candies, all led by singer Arodi Llanos. SuperAbuela will also perform, presenting a show filled with games, music, dance, art, and videos.

On Wednesday, December 31, the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council invites everyone to a huge New Year's Eve party starting at 10:30 PM. Journalist and presenter Alexis Hernández will host the event. The main stage will feature performances by Orquesta La Sabrosa, El Morocho y su orquesta, Pepe Benavente y su orquesta, and Orquesta Los Kadetes, with music continuing until early Thursday morning.

Beyond the main event in Plaza del Cristo, several neighborhoods and towns will host their own celebrations:

  • In La Cuesta, at Plaza del Tranvía, Orquesta Sonora Olimpia and Grupo Relieve will perform from 11:30 PM. This event is organized by the La Paz y Unión Festival Committee and the Department of Festivals.
  • Valle de Guerra's Plaza will welcome 2026 with music from Columbia, Dorada Band, and Kevin Ramos, starting at 12:30 AM on Thursday.
  • Tejina's New Year's Eve party will also begin at the same time, featuring the orchestra Banda Loca and DJs Winner and Jesús Rodríguez.
  • In San Matías, at Plaza Domingo Cubas, David Pérez, Grupo P&D, Grupo Nueva Latina, and DJ Pacheco will perform from 11:00 PM. This celebration is organized by the La Montaña Neighborhood Association, with support from the Virgen de Guadalupe Cultural Association and the Department of Festivals.

Earlier on the afternoon of December 31, La Laguna will host the 42nd San Silvestre Lagunera race. Organized by the Autonomous Sports Organization of La Laguna, the main race will run through the historic center's streets starting at 6:00 PM. Children's races will take place from 4:00 PM.

Additionally, the 'Christmas Square' and 'Royal Camp' will continue their programs. On December 31, they will have a special morning session from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, making it easier for people to attend the various activities planned before the evening's festivities.
