Cabildo President Rosa Dávila confirmed the imminent opening of the Padre Anchieta pedestrian walkway in La Laguna, set to significantly improve traffic flow and safety in a key city area.

The Padre Anchieta pedestrian walkway in La Laguna is about to open, marking a significant improvement in how the city is set up and how people move around in a key area. According to sources from the Cabildo de Tenerife (the island's government), its president, Rosa Dávila, confirmed that the walkway will soon be operational, expecting it to greatly transform the area.

This project aims to improve traffic flow and safety in one of the city's busiest spots. Dávila highlighted that it required teamwork between the Cabildo and the City Council. She made this announcement after a meeting with La Laguna's mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, where they discussed various important projects for the municipality.

Topics at the meeting included planned work on the La Laguna coastline, finalizing an agreement with Mesa Mota, and promoting cultural and environmental initiatives, with a special focus on improving waste disposal systems. They also discussed a future social and health center planned near Plaza del Cristo. The main plan for this center is currently being drafted and will include better accessibility, such as widening Cañaveral street.

Regarding road infrastructure, the island president also mentioned the road connecting Tejina with Bajamar, for which an investment of nearly 30 million euros has been planned. This project will involve the town helping to create a pedestrian path, which will make it safer for people walking.
