This Saturday, November 29, La Laguna will host its popular "La Noche en Blanco" (The White Night) event once again. Starting at 10:00 AM and running until the early hours of the morning, the historic town center will come alive with activities focused on shopping, history, music, culture, sports, and family fun.
The event, which also marks the start of the Christmas shopping season, will feature nearly a hundred activities spread across about 30 different locations in the town center.
This year's program includes international performances, food events, family-friendly activities, sports, and initiatives to boost local businesses.
Visitors can enjoy dance and theater shows, workshops for children, sports zones, street markets, shopping areas, and community spaces. To make shopping easier, lockers will be available at various points in the historic center, allowing people to store their purchases and continue enjoying the day hands-free.
To help people get around, there will be "Violet Points" and "Orange Points" for assistance, along with clear signs for parking, bus, tram, and taxi stops.
Early activities will take place in spots like Placita La Retama, the Casa Mesa street markets on Obispo Rey Redondo, Parque de la Constitución, and Plaza Antonio Mederos Sosa. The latter will host "Chocoland: La Plaza de la Navidad," a special Christmas food area. The Canary Market Place on Camino Largo will also be active.
The lockers for purchases will be located on Obispo Rey Redondo street.
Plaza de La Concepción will be a central hub, featuring the opening ceremony, a photo booth at the Torreón de la Luz, the main set for LNB Radio Central, and a mobile radio team that will broadcast from different parts of the center.
The music lineup includes concerts throughout the historic center. Las Migas will perform during the day at the Torre de La Concepción, and Seguridad Social will headline the main evening concert in Plaza del Cristo.
Other music stages will be set up in Plaza Hermano Ramón, Plaza Víctor Zurita, Teatro Leal, Orfeón La Paz, and various streets, showcasing local groups, traditional string ensembles (rondallas), bands, and roaming performers.
San Agustín street will transform into a sports zone, offering activities like basketball, volleyball, simulators, virtual reality, Canarian wrestling, climbing, chess, fitness, and urban dances. There will also be dedicated areas for children and teenagers.
Families can also take part in creative workshops, storytelling sessions, inclusive activities, and cultural events at the town's museums and centers. Highlights include "Ciudad de Cuentos" (City of Stories) at the old Santo Domingo convent, inclusive workshops in Plaza de los Ilustradores, and children's entertainment with roaming characters.
The arts program features street theater, dance performances, and parades in areas such as Plaza del Adelantado, Plaza Junta Suprema, Plaza Catedral, Plaza Doctor Olivera, and Calle Carrera.
Planned shows include "Olympics" by the Yllana company, breakdance demonstrations, lindy hop workshops, and various roaming performance groups that will entertain crowds along the main streets of the historic center.
On Heraclio Sánchez street, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, there will be a "Come and get to know the Citizen Centers" zone. This area will showcase some of the activities and projects carried out in these community spaces throughout the year.
