The La Laguna City Council is nearing completion of a comprehensive infrastructure project on Camino de Jardina that includes road improvements, utility upgrades, and enhanced community facilities.

The La Laguna City Council has announced that the final phase of infrastructure improvements on Camino de Jardina is nearly complete. The project goes beyond simple road resurfacing, addressing long-standing structural issues and essential service upgrades requested by local residents.

Spanning 2.6 kilometers and covering 17,500 square meters, the project takes a comprehensive approach to the area's needs. A primary focus has been improving rainwater drainage by adjusting road slopes to redirect water toward storm drains and the nearby ravine. Safety has also been prioritized through the installation of new retaining walls, protective fencing, and improved access points near Camino Amapola.

The work also modernized local utilities. In partnership with utility providers, over a kilometer of outdated piping in Jardina Alta was replaced to prevent leaks and water supply disruptions. Additionally, the electrical grid was upgraded to improve service reliability for residents.

Councilor for Works, Ángel Chinea, noted that the project was carried out in stages to minimize disruption to traffic and public transport. Despite some delays caused by the pipeline replacements, the project now includes added community features, such as repaired bus shelters and new benches.

The project is currently in its final stages, with crews waiting for favorable weather to finish road markings and install new outdoor fitness equipment. This initiative, led by Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, marks a significant effort to resolve long-term maintenance issues and improve the quality of public services in this part of the municipality.
