San Cristóbal de La Laguna has launched a series of infrastructure and utility upgrades in Valle de Guerra to improve road conditions and modernize the local water distribution network.

San Cristóbal de La Laguna is launching a new phase of infrastructure improvements, according to the local Department of Works, Infrastructure, and Accessibility. Starting next week in Valle de Guerra, these projects aim to update aging utility networks and repair road damage—a common issue in the municipality’s rural areas that requires ongoing maintenance to keep public services running smoothly.

Coordinated with the utility company Teidagua, the work schedule begins with a major project on Camino Florianes. Crews will renovate 1,800 square meters of road by removing the old surface, reinforcing the base, and inspecting sewage pipes before laying new asphalt. Mid-week, the team will move to Camino Lomo Solis to repair 2,500 square meters of road, which has been damaged by heavy traffic.

The project also prioritizes water system efficiency. On the Juan Fernández road, crews will replace 37 meters of old galvanized iron piping with modern, larger-diameter polyethylene pipes to improve water pressure and flow. Similar upgrades are planned for Camino Las Toscas to address previously identified issues in the distribution network.

Braulio Domínguez of Teidagua explained that these projects are part of the municipality’s Master Supply and Investment plans for managing water resources. To minimize disruption, residents and businesses in the affected areas have been notified of potential daytime water outages, which are scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. For any concerns during the construction, the City Council has set up a support line at 900 200 563.
