La Laguna Launches Holiday Toy Safety Campaign
La Laguna police have launched a "Safe Toy" campaign, inspecting shops to ensure Christmas and Three Kings' Day toys meet safety standards.
La Laguna's local police have started checking shops in the area to make sure toys sold for Christmas are safe. Over the next few weeks, they will keep an eye on different shops to monitor toy sales.
La Laguna's mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, is behind this campaign. Its goal is to protect children and make sure only safe toys are sold in the area. "With Christmas and Three Kings' Day approaching, toy sales go way up. That's why we need more checks to ensure toys children receive meet all legal safety standards," he explained. He also urged businesses "to be very careful with all toy-related matters."
Badel Albelo, the Councilor for Citizen Security, confirmed that the "Safe Toy" campaign has already begun with checks in some shops and will continue until January 6th, Three Kings' Day.
