La Laguna Hosts 'Of Roots, Air, and Lava' Poetry Event at Ateneo

San Cristóbal de La Laguna’s cultural scene gets a boost this Friday with an event designed to connect modern literature with the city’s artistic heritage. The Ateneo de La Laguna, in partnership with LM Arte Colección, is hosting a poetry gathering at 32 Obispo Rey Redondo Street, beginning at noon.
Titled Of Roots, Air, and Lava, the event moves beyond a standard poetry reading, turning the museum space into a site for shared experience. The lineup of authors—Aida González Rossi, Yeray Barroso, María Gómez, Guillermo Oliva Casanova, Rosa María Ramos Chinea, Nadia Spadone, and Antonio M. Piñero—brings together a diverse mix of voices and generations. The program is designed as a dialogue between personal reflection and the island’s unique geography, using the museum setting to explore themes of daily life, the volcanic landscape, and memory.
