This Saturday, September 12, the La Cuesta neighborhood will host a special event at Las Mantecas Park designed to boost the local economy and bring the community together. This initiative goes well beyond a typical clearance sale.
These events are part of a broader effort across the Canary Islands to help small businesses stay competitive against large retail chains and the growth of online shopping. By moving shops into an open public space, the City Council hopes to boost direct sales while strengthening the relationship between residents and local business owners—a vital step for keeping neighborhoods thriving.
The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will feature 15 different stalls. To make the experience more than just a traditional market, organizers have included food trucks and comfortable seating areas. The day also features a packed schedule of entertainment designed for all ages.
Activities include sports like archery and ping-pong, as well as plenty of fun for children, such as bouncy castles, creative workshops, and live music. Highlights include a K-Pop performance by Las Guerreras and various DJ sets. By turning the park into a family-friendly destination for the day, the event aims to attract visitors who might not otherwise visit the area, giving local entrepreneurs a great opportunity to showcase their products in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
