La Laguna is celebrating its 22nd 'November, Month of Wine' festival, offering a wide range of activities that combine wine, food, and culture throughout the month. Visitors can look forward to guided tours, tastings, shows, raffles, and special deals, all featuring wines from the Tacoronte-Acentejo region.

A highlight is the popular 'Red Wine Night' on Thursday, November 27, taking place around La Concepción Square. Here, you can try wines from the latest harvest in a lively, public setting.

Seventeen wineries from the Tacoronte-Acentejo Designation of Origin (D.O.) are taking part this year. These include: Bodegas Insulares de Tenerife, Cráter, Loher, Linaje del Pajo, Presas Ocampo, Marba, Viña Estévez, Tierra Fundida, El Cercado, Mallar de Los Trazos, Cándido Hernández Pío, Guayonge, Trancao de Acentejo, Viña El Drago, Hacienda de Acentejo, Domínguez Cuarta Generación, and Winery Burgmann Tenerife.

For food, several local establishments in La Laguna are collaborating, such as: La Topa, La Trinchera, La Tropical, La Cencerra, La Bodeguita, Restaurante Conny, Taberna El Remojo, Baggerman El Holandés, Cooperativa La Candelaria, Las Croquetas de La Oliva, and Charcutería Víveres Jacinto.

The cultural program offers something for everyone. Expect performances from Néstor Verona and Meeting Point, a live podcast called ‘La Sociedad de las Raras Avis con Kevin Smith pasado de vuelta’, opera screenings at Multicines Tenerife, walking tours of La Laguna's old town, and comic book signings with Mauro Entrialgo at Lemus Bookstore.

There will also be theater, music, chess, jewelry displays, food and wine pairings, and exhibitions. You can find the full schedule at www.tacovin.com.

María Paz Gil, manager of the Regulatory Council, explained that the aim is to continue showcasing the region's value and culture through a diverse program. She noted that "wine connects with other areas such as music, art, or history."

José Manuel González, president of the D.O. Tacoronte-Acentejo Regulatory Council, praised the local businesses for their involvement. He said they "once again offer their spaces as ideal places to enjoy wine in this final stretch of the year."

He also mentioned that the 2025 grape harvest was particularly small, yielding only 402,000 kilograms, mainly due to drought. He stressed the importance of buying wines with the official Tacoronte-Acentejo label.

Cristina Ledesma, the City Council's Councilor for Rural Development, emphasized the need to support the wine sector, which faces challenges from environmental factors and diseases. She also praised the high quality of La Laguna's wines, noting they are recognized "both nationally and internationally."

The 'November, Month of Wine' festival is organized by the La Laguna City Council and the D.O. Tacoronte-Acentejo Regulatory Council. It's also supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, GMR Volcanic Experience, Multicines Tenerife, Lemus Bookstore, Ciudades a Pie, Fundación México Canarias, Club Laguna-Cotelec, Tenebris Contracultura, Espacio Bronzo, LM Arte Colección, and El Búho Club.
