The LM Arte Colección in La Laguna is hosting Gráfica de la Conca until June 6, an exhibition celebrating the legacy of the influential Sala Conca gallery and its role in shaping the Canary Islands' contemporary art scene.

A new exhibition in La Laguna is shedding light on the Canary Islands' recent artistic history. The LM Arte Colección museum, located at 32 Obispo Rey Redondo Street, is hosting Gráfica de la Conca until June 6. The exhibition celebrates the legacy of Sala Conca, a gallery that played a vital role in promoting contemporary art and avant-garde movements in the islands during the late 20th century.

The exhibition does more than showcase historical works; it explores the evolution of printing techniques, including engraving, lithography, and artist’s books. By highlighting these pieces, the collection challenges the idea that these are "minor" art forms, demonstrating how they served as essential spaces for technical and conceptual experimentation for a generation of artists.

The exhibition features a conversation between major figures in 20th-century Spanish art and artists deeply connected to the Canary Islands. Visitors can view works by internationally acclaimed names such as Joan Miró, Eduardo Chillida, Antoni Tàpies, Antonio Saura, and Joan Brossa, alongside contributions from local artists like Manolo Millares, José Abad, and Ildefonso Aguilar. More than just a visual archive of Sala Conca, the exhibition offers a fresh look at the creative energy that defined the islands' cultural scene during that era.
